Are you ready for the new year? Here’s a way to make it even better: Transform your smile with Invisalign.
As the new year approaches, it’s natural for your thoughts to turn to improving yourself. You make resolutions, set goals, and map out plans, all with the idea of transforming your life.
Here at C & C Dental in Sugar Land, Texas, we have a suggestion to add to your list: Transform your smile in the new year with invisible Invisalign®.
Here’s how Invisalign can give you the smile you’ve always wanted.
What’s Invisalign?
Invisalign is a treatment plan designed to shift crooked teeth into alignment to give you a straight, sparkling smile you’re not ashamed to show off. The system includes a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually shift your teeth to their new position.
Because the aligners are clear, most people won’t notice you’re wearing them. Invisalign aligners move your teeth faster and more comfortably than braces at about the same cost.
How does it work?
First, our C & C Dental team determines if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign based on an oral exam and X-rays. We review treatment options with you — unless you have major orthodontic issues, you’re likely a good candidate.
Issues that can be effectively treated with Invisalign include:
- Overbite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Gapped teeth
- Crowded teeth
- Open bite
Your treatment starts with a digital scan of your teeth and mouth, which enables the Invisalign lab to custom-create your aligners to the shape, contour, and position of your teeth.
Once you receive your aligners, you wear each set for a week or two before switching to the next set that moves your teeth incrementally closer to their ideal position. You repeat this process until you reach your treatment goals. It usually takes 6-18 months.
For the aligners to be most effective, you should wear them at least 22 hours a day. You can remove them for eating, brushing your teeth, or special occasions, but don’t forget to pop them back in as soon as possible.
Keep your aligners clean by rinsing them with water every night and brushing them with a soft-bristled toothbrush. You can also let them soak occasionally in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and warm water to clean them even more fully.
When the process is complete, you’ll have a dazzling new smile for many new years to come.
